Write with Pride Workshop | Coping with Comics

THE JANUARY 20TH WORKSHOP HAS BEEN MOVED TO JANUARY 27TH.

Join the Write with Pride Coordinator Taria Person for the first workshop of the year!

For this workshop, you will have the opportunity to create your own mini comics. In this zine challenge, participants will be presented with various genres of writing, learn about book binding, and self-publish their own work.

Write with Pride aims to create safe, supportive spaces where Middle Tennessee LGBT+ youth can write and share to process experiences, shape identity, and build community as they come of age; equip Middle Tennessee LGBT+ youth with the skills to represent their experiences and advocate for themselves through public presentations at events, open mics, and conferences; and host an annual conference centered around writing and sharing where they can build community, celebrate their lives, and learn from each other and leaders in the field of LGBT+ youth development.

In addition to being a regional Spoken Word and Hip-Hop Slam Champion, Taria is an actress, poetry book author, and visual artist. They are a graduate of Maplewood High School and the University of Tennessee – Knoxville.
